About BioStream

BioStream is developing a non-invasive urine-based platform to support differential diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) and neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. The platform combines point-of-care urine collection, deep proteomic analysis, and AI-supported interpretation. The goal is to provide clinicians with an objective result without relying solely on invasive confirmation procedures. BioStream’s technology is currently undergoing clinical validation through active studies and an expanding proteomic dataset.

Clinical Need

Up to 10% of the 5.2 million people in the U.S. diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease may have underlying, treatable NPH.

Validation Highlights

Preliminary results in the current dataset show 86% accuracy in separating iNPH from dementia samples.

Ongoing Multi-Center Study

The ongoing study includes 100+ hydrocephalus samples and 50 dementia control samples.

Clinical Studies

The current clinical program includes studies with Rambam, Beilinson, and the Medical University of Rostock.

Intellectual Property

The company currently has two patent applications pending. The company also protects its sample handling methods, clinical dataset, and machine-learning work as trade secrets.

Commercial Path

BioStream is evaluating a staged commercial pathway: a planned CLIA-certified laboratory-developed test, followed by an FDA pathway.

Partner with BioStream

BioStream welcomes clinical and research partners working to improve non-invasive NPH diagnosis and monitoring.
